A quick glance at the clothing lines and fashion events we have today, mother earth must have put a stop to present, and to revisit history. Style icons, celebrities, runway models... everyone seems to have a hangover of the grand old trends. Are vintage dresses a new trend after all?

We love Fit & Flare Scoop Neck Vintage Dress with Cap Sleeves - ER5209 B WEB ROSE

Holla! It's the 21st century, where poodle skirts and Capri pants do it just perfectly, the once dowdy fanny pack is back and better too. Mom jeans, headscarves, swing dresses and oh! The Peter pan collar dresses... the 50's are no bad this day.

Fashion has always been about reviewing trends and designs. You wear this in a way you see best, I could wear it else way. Another comes, and it's an entirely different approach. At the end of the day, fashion is hardly anything new. Few touches here and there and voila, the original trend evolves just again.

Talking about evolution, ladies and gentlemen, here are 6 repeat wears/accessories for red carpet events. They are trends deployed for the cameras this season and we definitely cannot resist them.

Take a look at Fit & Flare V-Neck White Cat Black Dress, Sleeveless-ER3915 CAT3 BLK

Over the knee socks

You probably know it as knee-high socks- grandma's substitute for a pantyhose. Well, this retro sock style has found its way back in trend and it's more than beautiful. Fits for a casual look and when worn together with those shorts and a tee, you're all the way set for spring.

There is also the new approach of ladies pairing knee-high socks with short hemlines and a number of heel types. Yay. But just again, sleek! Go girl, over the knee.

Striped Sweaters

Stripes are so always. Vertical, horizontal, or even a mix of both, stripes have been in town for far too long. There's only a difference this season- the diverse colors of the 1970s are taking the lead. So, somewhat rusty, nautical and Breton too, striped sweaters are in for the tide.

Before we continue, we’d like to show you Fit & Flare V-Neck White Cat Print, Black Dress, Sleeveless-ER5187 CAT3 BLK

Headscarves

For Russians, Babushka seals this. Remember how old women in the early years ran scarves over their heads? This dispensation leaves us with younger Russian women taking their inspiration from the vintage dress trend. The scarf is better rocked at summer, knotting it down your chin, alongside a pair of ray-ban's or the aviator's sunglasses. Beach way and sightseeing too? Yeah, so long it's Babushka.

Pearls

Jewelry is not left out of the trend this season. To think that pearls of yesteryears could find their way through to the present? Fantastic! Layers of pearls on tweed separates are increasingly popular.

Fanny packs

Very popular in the 80's as hands-free accessories, fanny packs are back but this time, as shoulder packs. The trend must be a revision of the then chatelaine purse often worn around the waist. It used to be the thing for athletes then, until recently when it became the purse for all, celebrities inclusive. Ladies (and gentlemen alike), can have a part in this pack of fun.

Square-Toe shoes

Giggle a little. I too didn't like the sound of it at first. The trend is close to that of the early years only that this time it feels more elegant. Talk of the loafers and mules, talk of granny's square toes. With or without socks, even the kitten heel pumps shouldn't be ignored. Watch out for them.

As trends come and go, we cannot but yearn for more of the familiar surroundings. Nostalgic, you say? If they steer the runway trends, why not? I not so much as know about you if it's the vintage dress trend, I'm all in.
